A DRIVER has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following a head on crash near Abergavenny.
The crash took place yesterday near the Hardwick roundabout on the A4042 in Llanfoist. Police were called at 4.45pm to reports of a head on collision involving two cars; a BMW and a Mini.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service attended and freed one person who was trapped.
Four people were taken to hospital; two to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport and two to Nevill Hall in Abergavenny.
A Gwent Police spokesman said the injuries sustained were 'not life-threatening' or 'life-changing.'
The driver of the Mini sustained a broken leg and the rear passenger a broken pelvis.
Both are stable in hospital.
The driver of the BMW was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
