A CHEPSTOW pub is reopening today after being shut for development work for six weeks.

The Coach & Horses Inn on Welsh Street has undergone a full refurbishment by its owner SA Brains.

As part of the company’s push across Monmouthshire, pubs such as the Coach & Horses are being interiorly designed in what has been described as "a traditional style and feel with a new contemporary twist".

Tenants Dave and Lisa Foxford-Brown, who took over the pub in November 2014, said: "We are thrilled that Brains chose to develop the Coach and Horses and provide Chepstow with an outstanding venue for both local and visiting guests. We are excited to be able to offer our guests a high quality restaurant, bar and bedroom accommodation"

The letting bedrooms have been transformed, while free Wi-Fi coverage is in all areas and new furniture has been put in the patio garden area to the rear.

Nigel Walters, business development manager for the Coach & Horses said: “Our tenant partners Lisa and Dave were delighted when they viewed the property for the first time after the refurbishment. They will be offering a mouth-watering menu of locally sourced food as well as an extensive drink range, including up to six cask ales on tap.”
