CHEPSTOW'S Ladies Tangent Group has raised £3,335 for the Brain Tumour Research Charity following the death of a member's daughter.

The community group rallied together to host a 'preloved fashion' event called Swishing for Sarah in July in support of the charity and in memory of Gwen Brewerton's daughter, Sarah Wadsworth.

Mrs Brewerton, 76, and her husband Michael, 80, of Pwllmeyric, lost their daughter to the "cruel" illness in March of this year.

Mrs Wadsworth, who was 50 when she passed away, was a former Head Girl at Larkfield School and a senior administrator for a large health centre in Bristol.

She left behind her husband Mark, and two sons, Tom and Callum.

The fundraising event, which was held at a fellow member's home in Shirenewton, was followed up by the group presenting the cheque to Carol Robertson of the charity at St. Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club last Thursday.

Mrs Brewerton hailed the fundraiser as a "huge success", adding: "It was just so supportive, there was a lot of love and support for us and the day itself was absolutely amazing."

Speaking on behalf of the Ladies Tangent, Mrs Brewerton said: "Ladies Tangent would like to thank all those involved in making the day so successful.

"Our own ladies, of course, who worked tirelessly on the day, everyone who gave so many beautiful pre-loved clothes, the retailers of Chepstow and Caldicot, and St. Pierre who supported so generously with raffle prizes and everyone else who contributed to the day."
