A TEENAGER left with serious leg injuries following a suspected ‘hit and run’ in Caldicot is recovering well according to family members.

Aaron Batchelor, 17, of Caerwent, was struck by a car along Church Road at around 6.30pm on Thursday, March 9.

The car, believed to be a red Vauxhall Corsa VXR, is said to have sustained damage to the driver’s wing mirror and window.

According to his sister, Aesha, he has had to have facial stitches, and has suffered some bruising, but his leg is “on the mend”.

She said: “The operation went well and they’re happy with how he’s recovering so hopefully he’ll be home soon.

“Me and the family just want to thank all the people who was at the scene of the accident when my brother was hit with a car.

“We really want to find the person who did this. Not just for justice for Aaron but to stop anyone else going through this because next time the person might not be as fortunate.”
