BRITISH Transport Police are appealing for information after a 13-year-old girl was allegedly "touched inappropriately" on a train from Cheltenham to Maesteg travelling through Gwent.

At around 2.30pm on Saturday, February 4, a 13-year-old girl was travelling on the train and as it passed between Lydney and Severn Tunnel, a man was said to have touched her inappropriately.

Police have now launched an appeal to find the offender.

He is described as white, around 30-years-old, of medium build, with ginger curly hair.

He was wearing a black baggy jacket, dark tracksuit bottoms and red trainers.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who may have any information which could help with the investigation.

And officers would also like to speak to a woman who came to the victim’s assistance on board the train, before getting off at Chepstow railway station.

She is white, around 30-years-old, with long red/purple dyed hair.
