SCHOOLCHILDREN were given the chance to test out new play equipment at a park in Caldicot yesterday (Tues).
Pupils from Ysgol Y Ffin were invited to the official opening of the new apparatus at the King George V playing fields playground.
The improvements came after Caldicot Town Council were told that a piece of play equipment would be removed in November 2016.
Members subsequently agreed that a new set should be purchased and the council funded the £15,181 surfacing and installation costs.
Town mayor Councillor David Evans said of the job: “The Town Council are happy with the new piece and hope to continue updating the play area, as and when required.”
