A SCHOOLGIRL inspired to help children undergoing cancer treatment has had eight inches of her hair cut off.
Niamh White, aged 11, from Hilltop, Chepstow, decided to go under the scissors after reading about the work of the Little Princess Trust charity, which provides wigs for children suffering hair loss due to cancer treatment.
The hair has been sent off to the charity to help provide a wig, following the cut at SW1 Hair in Chepstow last Saturday, April 8.
"She has always had long hair, but this was the longest it has ever been," said Sandra White, Niamh's grandmother.
"It was after reading about the work of the charity that Niamh decided she wanted to do something to help.
"It was a nice thing to do."
Ms White said the family were also planning to make a donation to the Little Princess Trust to support the children's cancer charity.
