A MAN has been left with 'serious injuries' after a crash along the A40 in Monmouthshire.

The collision, which involved the pedestrian and a blue Ford Fiesta, happened along the northbound carriageway of the road adjacent to Raglan services at approximately 10.50am on Sunday, May 14.

Crews from the Welsh Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance attended the scene and took the man to hospital where he remains.

A Gwent Police spokesman said: "Officers investigating the circumstances of this incident and are appealing for anyone who may been passing the location,  witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage  to contact Gwent Police on 101 quoting log 167 14/05/2017."

A PATIENT has been taken to hospital by air ambulance following a serious crash on the A40 in Monmouthshire today.

Gwent Police were called to the scene near Raglan Services at around 11.30am this morning.

South Wales Ambulance Service confirm a patient has been taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary.

The road was closed in both directions between Monmouth and Raglan for over three hours but police said traffic was now moving freely.
