A POLICE helicopter was scrambled to help in a search after reports a driver failed to stop following a crash near Usk.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking following the incident.

They have been released under investigation.

A police spokeswoman said: "At approximately 4.50pm on Saturday, August 6, we received a report that a car had crashed into another vehicle on Cefn Mawr Lane near Usk and failed to stop.

"The car was abandoned and after a search by our dog section, a 23-year-old man and a 27-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking.

"They have been released under investigation."
