COMMUNITY groups have won a share of a £12,000 fund after pitching for their products in a Dragons Den-style event.
Eight groups entered Monmouthshire Housing Association's (MHA) "Pitch for your Project" awards in a bid to win a share of the grant.
Monmouthshire Homestart was awarded £5,000, Raglan Coffee and Computers received £1,500, Caldicot Music Theatre Society was awarded £1,260 and £1,040 was gained by Blue Phoenix Marching Band. Lifeboat, a group which supports people with mental health problems, received £1,000. A fund of £2,200 was granted to Bridge to Cross Charitable Trust, Savoy Youth Theatre and Jigsaw Community Group.
Applications for the winter round of the scheme will be open from November 10 until January 19, next year. The event will be taking place on February 13, 2018. For more information email Jacob Richards, engagement officer on jacob.richards@monmouthshirehousing.co.uk.
