UPDATE 10.40am
A 44-year-old man from Chepstow has been arrested by police following reports of an alleged sexual assault in the area.
Police were called at 11.30pm on Thursday October 19 and remain at the scene today.
Enquiries are ongoing, and the woman involved is being supported by specialist officers.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman confirmed that the man remains in police custody.
UPDATE 10.10am
A POLICE presence has been reported outside a "taped off" house in Chepstow.
Cllr Armand Watts, member for Thornwell, told the Argus that he saw police while driving along the A48 this morning.
Gwent Police have been contacted and are preparing a statement.
