A DAD has spoken of the moment he met his comic hero Russell Howard at Morrisons in Abergavenny.
The comedian and television presenter was visiting the town last week to see his brother-in-law.
Paul Brown was shopping in the new store with his son, Sean, when he met Howard in the chance encounter.
Mr Brown said: "I saw Russell out of the corner of my eye and knew straight away it was him, he is my comic hero and I’ve watched all of his shows."
Howard, who was with his brother-in-law, agreed to pose for a photo and shared a joke with Mr Brown.
"As Russell walked towards us I passed him the phone and said “it’s your brother in-law I want the photo with not you,” said Mr Brown.
"Russell’s shoulders dropped and he looked down at the floor in his signature disappointment stance. It was so funny and so quick."
He added: "Although only a five-minute encounter, Russell was polite, humble and willing to have a laugh.
"I am even more of a fan now."
