I HATE to disagree with my ex-Argus colleague Andy Rutherford (The Weekender, June 8) but there can be no such thing as ‘middle-lane hogging’ on a motorway.

The middle lane is for traffic moving faster than in the inside lane.

If you want to overtake a slow-moving, so-called ‘hogger’ just go into the outside, overtaking lane.

The idiots are those who travel 90mph in the inside lane and use the middle lane for overtaking, and those who overtake middle-lane vehicles then sweep straight into the inside lane, continuing at their manic 90mph.

There’s only one overtaking lane and that’s the outside one. Simple.

Or do I need to take another driving test?
