MORE than 1,400 people gassed to death, more than 400 of them children. I guess it leaves a bitter taste in most people’s mouths, doesn’t it? Has Obama painted himself into a corner by saying “No boots on the ground”? He may be right, but doing nothing is surely not an option... action in Syria could indeed start a third world war.

Assad is probably one of the most dangerous men in the world today and while he can’t be accused of genocide, what he has done seems even worse.

I don’t see how a satisfactory conclusion can be brought about without boots on the ground. I’m sure Putin thinks a lot of Assad’s opposition are Al Qaeda supporters and perhaps they are. Mad people are nothing new, Adolf Hitler blighted my childhood and Neville Chamberlain made himself a laughing stock for waving a chitty of paper and yelling “peace in our time”.

Just remember, somebody will need to gather up the chemical weapons to dispose of them safely.

Who would that be if not the Americans? Without America there would be no UN.

David Cameron was made to look incompetent by the dissenting MPs; however, they try to explain it away. Money before principle? Not the British way is it?
