THE Chepstow Rock Choir will be involved in a record attempt for the most people singing and signing on the same day.
The choir will be involved in SignHealth, a charity which supports deaf people, in their sign2sing attempt at beating last years record of 150,000 people. The choir will be singing and signing True Colours by Cyndi Lauper.
Suzie Anderson, Rock Choir Leader for Chepstow, said: “We are really looking forward to taking part in sign2sing. Learning to sign as well as sing will add a new and very interesting element to the song and we’re all really excited about the challenge.
“We hope that lots of people will go along to their nearest Rock Choir session and join with us in helping to raise money and awareness for such a worthy cause.”
Rock Choir was established in 2005, by award-winning singer and musician Caroline Redman Lusher and is the UK’s largest contemporary choir.
Linda Petrons, Events and Corporate Fundraiser at SignHealth said: “We’re absolutely thrilled and very excited that Rock Choir will be participating in sign2sing next year. “
“With the choir’s support lots more people will have the chance to learn some sign language in a great, fun and memorable way.”
SignHealth, which has been established for more than 20 years, works to improve the health and wellbeing of deaf people and help them to live independently. The record attempt will take place on February 5.
