STAFF at Eastman in Newport are gearing up for this year’s Race for Wildlife 10k run in May.

Eleven members of staff from the chemical company in Lliswerry are set to take part in the race, which has been arranged by Gwent Wildlife Trust, and will be held on Sunday, May 18, in Undy. Money raised will go to conserving the fens of nearby Magor Marsh Reserve as well as contributing toward the work of Gwent Wildlife Trust within the area. The race begins at 10.30am at the Undy Athletic Football Ground. It is open to those aged 15 and over.

Danielle Frost, HR assistant at Eastman Newport, who is co-ordinating the team, said: “This is a great opportunity to further support Gwent Wildlife Trust in their fundraising whilst having fun and getting fit too.”

There will also be a 1k fun run at Undy Athletic Football Club, to run concurrently. Fancy dress is encouraged and there will be a prize for the best outfit and certificates for all those who finish. Closing date for pre-entries is Friday, May 9.
