PIRATES have been visiting a popular Monmouthshire tourist attraction this week as part of one of its themed weeks over the summer holiday.
Anyone who turns up at the Old Station in Tintern dressed up as a pirate is given a special prize for their effort.
And Paul Cheesman, who works at the tourist attraction, said the special events were pulling in a lot of interest and were benefitting from the good weather.
He said: “It does get a bit chaotic down here.
“In the summer the car park does get to capacity.”
As part of the week, a special trail has been set up, called Pirate’s Lost Treasure. Crafts stalls are available selling pirate hats, beads and eye patches.
It is only one of a series of themed weeks the station will be holding over the summer.
On the week commencing August 4, it will be holding a Gruffalo-themed week.
And next month the themes will be cowboys and Indians, adventurers and princess and knights.
