A MONMOUTHSHIRE councillor has announced that she intends to stand as an Independent candidate in the 2016 Welsh Assembly elections.
Debby Blakebrough, who hails from Northumberland and has lived in Monmouthshire since 2003, was elected to the county council in 2012 where she represents the Trellech United ward.
Cllr Blakebrough said: “As an independent I want to represent the communities of the area without the shackles of having to follow a particular party line.
“It is time for a new way in politics.”
