UPDATE:

41 year old Leigh Foster who police were trying to locate after he absconded from HMP Prescoed yesterday, Sunday 26th October, has been located and arrested, officers said in the last few minutes.

He is currently in police custody and will shortly be returned to the prison authorities.

 

 

POLICE are appealing for help in tracing a prisoner who absconded from HMP Prescoed near Usk yesterday.

Leigh Foster, 41, was convicted of robbery at Swansea Crown Court in July 2007.

He is described as white, approximately 5ft10ins tall, of a medium/large build with shaved light brown hair. He has two tattoos on his left arm, one a Celtic band and the other the name ‘Deborah’. He has also used the name Leigh Foster-Griffiths.

He is not a registered sex offender.

It is believed there may be a potential risk due to the fact that he is no longer in the custody of the prison service.

It’s believed he could be in the Swansea or Ammanford area where he is known to have contacts.

Gwent Police has activated its operational plan with the aim of locating him and the prison are co-operating fully.
