THOUSANDS are expected to visit Usk’s largest ever Christmas market at the weekend.
The two-day event returns to the town as part of this year’s Usk Festival.
Shoppers to the market on Twyn Square will be treated to more than 50 stalls selling locally-produced foods, ales and ciders, art and gifts, clothing, handbags, jewellery and even Christmas trees over two days between December 6 and 7.
The festival will also host live entertainment and performances on both days from choirs to bands.
On Saturday Stormus take to the stage in the square with guests Maya Haslett and Silurian-winner of this year’s Monmouth Busking Festival. Other acts to perform at the festival include The Flying Shepherds, Mansel Davies, The Apple Tree Theory, The Mystery Room and Monmouthshire Community Choir.
The Festival culminates in a reindeer parade at 5pm on December 7. Santa and his sleigh will be pulled by reindeer from Usk Fire Station around the town to The Sessions House on Maryport Street.
Usk Festival takes place between 10am and 5pm on December 6 and 10am to 7pm on 7.
