TEACHERS at a school in Monmouth surprised their pupils by transforming a new welly shed into Santa’s Grotto.
Children at Agincourt School and Nursery were thrilled to find their shed had been turned into an enchanting wonderland, decorated with baubles, trees and fairy lights – all donated by staff.
Jennie Phillips, Headmistress, said: “We recently had the welly and wet weather shed built to house our new outdoor and forest gear and couldn’t resist using it as a grotto first.
“They worked very hard all morning to ensure Santa would visit after lunch.”
“Classes went to visit him in the afternoon and their reactions were magical.
“The children sang to him and each got a gift.”
“The children were encouraged to think about the pleasure of giving, and the importance of sharing.
