A £3,000 REWARD has been offered in an effort to stop a crime wave in a Gwent village.
Crimestoppers has put up the reward £3,000 for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the people behind a series of burglaries in Osbaston.
There have been 26 crimes in the Monmouthshire village since June 1 2014.
Gwent Police say they have witness accounts telling of a group of four to five men working together to commit the burglaries.
In the most recent incident, a resident of Wallis Close became suspicious when he saw activity in his neighbours house and also a car parked outside.
Knowing his neighbours were out he went outside to make further enquiries and also tried to take a photo of the parked car.
A man got out of the car and was joined by a number of other men, and the resident was then assaulted.
He was struck on the arm with a baseball bat but was not seriously injured. He also said he had a liquid sprayed in his face but this did not cause him any injuries or harm.
The car was described as a black Lexus/ Saloon type car.
Any information can be provided anonymously via 0800 555 111 or using their secure online form . If claimed, the reward can be paid via the anonymous Crimestoppers reward system.
