A CHEPSTOW café owner is angry after her business was broken into and money stolen from her and a charity on Friday.

A window at Nicky Mogridge’s First Class Cafe, which is on the forecourt of the town’s train station on Station Road, was smashed so the criminals could get in.

They took £45 to £50 from a bright orange charity box and £43 from the till.

But she said she was most irritated about money being taken from the Lost Soul Sanctuary.

She added: “If we can locate the charity box that would be something. It’s going to be empty but Chepstow is a small town and people know who does jobs like these.

“I won’t rest until I’ve found them.”

Ms Mogridge said she lost more money because her opening was delayed from her typical start time of 6.45am until 11am.

Replacing the smashed pane cost her £150.

A spokeswoman for the Monmouthshire-based charity said: “We have got charity boxes.

“Obviously they have a significant impact.

“It is a very unpleasant thing to do.”
