POLICE carried out a drugs raid on a property in Usk earlier today.
Five officers from Usk’s neighbourhood police teams raided the premises on Bridge Street at around 11am.
No arrests were made and police are now conducting further enquiries.
Chief inspector Mick Moyles said: “Officers discovered a small cultivation of cannabis and are conducting further enquiries into identifying those responsible.”
He added: “We had to make sure the premises were safe in terms of power supply.
“The power supply can often be bypassed before entering a premises.”
Police left the scene around 4pm.
One Usk person who saw the raid said: “When they turned up it was like something from The Sweeney.
“I couldn’t believe it as nothing ever happens in Usk.”
