The biker who died following the crash on Saturday in Abergavenny has been named as Bristol man John Grant.

Specifically trained officers are supporting his family.

A 60 year old male from Monmouthshire was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He is currently on police bail until 26/09//2016.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to Gwent Police on 101 quoting log number 562 04/06/16.

A MOTORCYCLIST has died after a crash involving a Range Rover in Monmouthshire.

The collision took place between a blue Honda Motorcycle and a Range Rover near the Clytha Arms Pub and Restaurant on Groesonen Road, Clytha, Abergavenny.

The rider of the motorcycle, from the Bristol area, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Range Rover, from Monmouthshire area, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.

Gwent Police is appealing for witnesses following the crash which took place at around 7.30pm on Saturday, June 4.

A spokesman for the force said the bereaved family are being supported by specially trained officers.
