THE ex-boyfriend of EuroMillions winner Courtney Davies has cursed his luck after she scooped a part of the £61m family lottery fortune.

Daniel White, 21, and teenage sweetheart Ms Davies, 19, were together for two years while studying at Monmouth Comprehensive School.

To make matters worse, Mr White's neighbours also happen to be Ms Davies' sister, Stephanie, and boyfriend, Steve Powell, who will also receive equal shares of £12m from the sisters' mother Sonia Davies.

Mrs Davies, who bought the ticket to celebrate beating cancer following surgery in the US, also shared the fortune with her partner Keith Reynolds.

Speaking after the family's remarkable win, Mr Davies said that he felt a mixture of emotions after their announcement on Wednesday.

"To find out they've now won the lottery I'm happy for them - but obviously feel like it could have been me," he said. "I just put my head in my hands.

"All of my mates are savaging me about this - the first I knew of their win was my phone going nuts."

Mr White, who is a development officer for the Welsh Rugby Union, paid tribute to Miss Davies' mother after the family experienced tragedy during the beginning of the relationship.

"It was a tough time for her when we got together as (Miss Davies) her dad Malcolm had just died.

"The family were devastated but Sonia did a great job of keeping them all together."

According to Mr White, who is set to start university later this year, the couple's 'great' relationship ended when she decided to moved to Southampton to further her own education.

"After we broke up we'd tried to stay friends but it was difficult and just as I was getting over her her sister moved in next door," said Mr Davies.

"It was a school and teenage romance which just tailed off. We had different interests and different friends.

"She called it off by text which I didn't think was the right thing to do but I wish her all the best even though I won't see any of the money!"
