UPDATE: 5.18pm
FIRE crews from Duffryn and Maindee have attended a car fire on the M4 westbound.
The incident has caused lenghty tailbacks on the M4, with the fire taking place between junction 23A Magor and junction 24 Coldra.
A spokeswoman from the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that there are no injuries from the fire.
She added that the crews are still on the scene although the fire was put out at just before 5.10pm.
The crews arrived at the site of the incident at just before 5pm, and used hosereels and breathing apparatus to tackle the fire, which was 'well alight' when the firefighters arrived.
One lane remains closed and traffic is queuing as a result of the fire.

A CAR fire on the M4 westbound is causing lengthy tailbacks, with one lane closed.
The incident happened between junction 23A Magor and junction 24 Coldra, and is causing traffic to spill over on the B4245 near Magor and the A48 near Newport.
