A WELSH author will be publishing his second book which looks at the history of a Monmouthshire Town this Sunday.

Keith E Morgan, who lives in Porthcawl but is originally from Swansea, is about to publish his latest book which examines the history of the town of Monmouth, and observes how historic landmarks have altered or developed over time.

Mr Morgan, who published Chepstow Through Time last month and has written 14 books on the history of Welsh and English towns and islands.

He said Monmouth Through Time was his latest book has been one of his favourites to write due to its interesting past.

He said: “Monmouth was one which I found quite interesting due to its rich history.

“Looking back through time the archaeological history goes back a lot more in Monmouth, even to the Stone Age. There is a lot to look at and Monmouth has many things.”

The 80-year-old said the books have helped him learn about other areas in Wales, as well as other places, including South Jersey and St Helier.

Mr Morgan said: “I have been writing for a long time. I enjoy learning about the different history of places because it’s always unique.

“I’ve been writing since 1995 and I have about five books lined up to be published at the end of this year and next year.”
