CHEPSTOW Racecourse will hold its third annual charity run next week.

The Chepstow Stampede takes place on Saturday, October 22 and will see hundreds of people take part in either a 5km or 10km run at Piercefield Park and Chepstow Racecourse.

Participants will have to battle through various obstacles on the run, including manmade horse hurdles, ditches, and mud pits, as well as scaling steep banks, conquering leg-burning hills and wading through waist deep water.

The first ever Chepstow Stampede in 2014 saw 250 people take on the challenge to raise money for Kidney Research UK.

This year, the event will be raising money for three different charities: Breast Cancer Care Cymru, the ABF – The Soldiers’ Charity and Prostate Cymru.

In 2015 Chepstow Stampede also launched Mini-Stampede, which is run over 1.6k, and is open to children aged five to nine, and 10 to 13-years-old.

This year the event is also opening up the 5k race for 14 to 15-year-olds, as long as they have received a signed consent form along with the entry fee.

The challenge costs £29 per adult in both the 5k and 10k run and £26.10 for teams of eight or more in both of the runs.

And the cost for those aged 14 and 15 is £25 per person.

Team entry will need to be booked by calling the racecourse on 01291 622260 or emailing Sarah Davies on sdavies@chepstow-racecourse.co.uk for more information.
