A PHOTOGRAPH taken in Monmouthshire has been shortlisted in a competition which encourages people to take ‘safe selfies’.

Amanda Goldston, of Tamworth, Staffordshire, took a selfie at the Devil’s Pulpit, near Tintern, and it has now been shortlisted in the National Accident Helpline’s #SelfieSafety competition.

Ms Goldston said: “The picture was taken on the Offa’s Dyke Path, which runs along the border between England and Wales.

“This point is called the Devil’s Pulpit and it is where the Devil allegedly tried to tempt the monks who lived and worked in the 11th Century Tintern Abbey, which you can see behind me in the valley below in the picture.”

The competition is part of a national campaign urging selfie takers to take extra care to avoid accidents.
