AN AIR ambulance was called after an elderly man was found unconscious and seriously injured by the side of the road in Chepstow this morning.
Although the air ambulance was called to the scene outside St Mary’s RC Primary School in Bulwark Road at about 8.30am, the man was taken by regular ambulance to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport, where his condition is described as critical.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said it was unclear whether the man had been hit by a vehicle or been injured in another way.
