RAGLAN held its own version of the TV cooking competition Masterchef.
Monmouth AM Nick Ramsay stood in for judges Greg Wallace and John Torode for the event at the Beaufort Hotel on Sunday.
Organised by the Raglan Village Hall Association, the event attracted nine entrants, aged from 11 upwards.
Entrants were tasked with creating a dish suitable for a royal garden party to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s sapphire anniversary – and with her red, white and blue, raspberry and blueberry pavlova, Daphne Pettit’s attractive dessert fitted the bill.
Mrs Pettit, who lives in the village, said: “I’m just a family, everyday cook but my husband David encouraged me to enter my pavlova.”
Mr Ramsay added: “It was a fun evening and a real pleasure to be invited to judge this popular competition - not an easy task.
“Well done to everyone who took part.”
