MEMBERS of the public are being urged to give their views on the future management of Caldicot’s country park.

Monmouthshire council is in the middle of developing a long-term green infrastructure management plan for its countryside sites.

Two drop-in events will be held at the main car park at Caldicot Castle on Friday November 17, from 3pm to 7pm, and on Saturday November 18 from 10am to 12noon within the council’s mobile exhibition unit.

Cllr Bryan Jones, cabinet member with responsibility for Monmouthshire’s countryside service said: “Whether you use Caldicot Country Park for walking, jogging, running, exercising your dog, picnicking, painting, admiring its beautiful surroundings or any other reason we welcome your views. Please attend our consultation events and make your voice heard.”

This consultation is seen as an important stage in the process to encourage the community to help plan and shape the future of the country park.

The aim is to safeguard the park’s connected green spaces, while reflecting its heritage and natural environment to enhance the quality of life and community identity.
