A GROUP of business-savvy Monmouth teenagers are preparing to take the leisure industry by storm with the launch of a personalised footwear brand.
The A-level students want to create a “genuine sense of team identity” for sports clubs in the area by printing eye-catching personalised logos, patterns and pictures on to sliders shoes.
The pupils from Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools have set-up MySlides as part of Young Enterprise, a charity that aims to empowers young people to harness their personal and business skills.
The 15-strong team has already received orders for personalised sliders from sports clubs at Monmouth School for Boys and Monmouth School for Girls.
Running throughout the academic year, the Sixth Form students are making all the decisions about their footwear business and working together as a team in specific roles, including sales, marketing, production, human resources and finance
The students have launched an online shop.
