The junior schools of Caldicot and district competed in a swimming gala at Caldicot Leisure Centre on June 14. Schools taking part were: Castle Park, Durand, Green Lane, Magor, Rogiet, Undy and Ysgol-y-Ffin.
The overall points winner was Rogiet, with Magor second and Undy third. Best male swimmer was Ben Carter (Rogiet); joint best female swimmers were Emma Kirkby and Gabby Pearson (both of Rogiet).
The achievement award was presented to George Jones of Green Lane. Medals were presented by Ryan Mills, long-serving swimming coach and former scorer for the gala. Starter was Rose Lane. Organiser on the day was Amy Lawrence, and her thanks go to everyone taking part: officials, spectators, and especially swimmers.
