PUPILS from a Pontypool school joined Pontypool Park Friends to throw wildflower seed bombs recently.
In September, Pontypool Park Friends visited George Street School with materials for the pupils to prepare wildflower seed bombs consisting of clay, compost and wildflower seeds, and are designed to be used in areas where long preparation of an area for planting is not feasible.
Last week, the children joined together to spread the seeds in the area around the Shell Grotto in Pontypool Park.
The seeds benefit from the moisture of the clay, the food from the compost and the slow break down of the bombs.
The grotto was also open so that the children were able to see inside.
