THE fallen will be remembered across Torfaen and Monmouthshire this weekend, with a number of Remembrance parades and services. All events listed will be held on Sunday November 9 unless otherwise stated.

Torfaen

• ABERSYCHAN: Short service will take place at 11am at the stone commemorating the Blenheim bomber crash in 1940 on Garn Wen above Abersychan. A wreath will be laid and a two minute silence will be observed.

• BLAENAVON: Parade from the top car park at 10.40am, marching via Broad Street and Ivor Street to the war memorial. Wreath laying and service at the war memorial at 11am, followed by a service in St Peter’s Church.

• CWMBRAN: Parade assembles at Clomendy Road at 10.10am and moves off via Commercial Street to war memorial clock for prayers at 10.25am. Parade then moves off via Oldbury Road, Henllys Way to Cocker Avenue Park for a service and wreath laying ceremony. A two-minute service will be observed at 11am and the parade will then move off via Henllys Way, Cocker Avenue, and Wesley Street to St Gabriel’s Church at 11.15am.

• HENLLYS: A service will be held at Henllys village hall at 3pm.

• NEW INN: Parade assembles at St Mary’s Church Hall, the Highway at 10am and moves off to St Mary’s Church at 10.10am. A church service will be held at St Mary’s Church at 10.30 and the parade will return to St Mary’s Church Hall at 11.20am.

• PANTEG: A service at St Hilda’s Church conducted by Reverend Anne Golledge at 10.30am. A wreath laying service will take place at Panteg Cemetery at 11.45.

• PONTNEWYDD: Parade assembles at 10.15am and moves from Pontnewydd Royal British Legion club, Station Road for wreath laying ceremony and service at the war memorial. A two-minute silence will be observed at 11am.

Service and wreath laying will also be held at St Cadoc’s Church, Trevethin at 10.45am.

• PONTYPOOL: Service at Crane Street Baptist Church at 10.30am. Mass at St Albans RC Church, George Street at 11am. Parade assembles at Commercial Street, Pontypool town centre at 11.45am. Parade moves from assembly point to Memorial Gates for service and wreath laying ceremony at 12pm.

Monmouthshire

• MAGOR: Assembly in the square commencing at 10.40am followed by a remembrance service in St Mary's Church.

• CALDICOT: March commencing in the town car park at 10.25am to St Mary's Church, after the service there will be a march past the deputy Lord Lieutenant at the saluting base and then on to the Severn View Club for a buffet provided by Caldicot Council.

• ABERGAVENNY: March departs Market Hall at 10am to march onto war memorial for service and laying of wreaths.

• USK: March departs the Royal British Legion Club on Old Market Street at 2.30pm and moves onto cenotaph for service, salute, and laying of wreaths.

• CHEPSTOW: March off from car park at back of Chepstow Library at 10.15am. After laying of wreaths at war memorial, there will be a service at St Mary’s Church at 10.50am.

• MONMOUTH: Meeting at Shire Hall at 10am to march to the war memorial, followed by a service at St Mary’s at 11.20am.
