SCAM WARNING: 'Bargain' mattresses could be full of bugs
TORFAEN residents are being warned of a potential scam involving the sale of supposedly new ‘bargain’ mattresses from the back of vans.
Trading standards officers fear people could be buying highly flammable mattresses, potentially full of germs, mites and bugs.
Steve Whitehouse, the council's head of trading standards, said the mattresses have usually been discarded, but intercepted before being disposed of, and fitted with cheap new covers.
