DIED: Amelia Rose Jones
THE jury was sworn in today for the trial of a grandfather accused of the murder of his six-week-old baby granddaughter.
Mark Jones, 45, of Cwmbran, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Amelia Rose Jones.
She died in November 2012 at the University of Wales Hospital in Cardiff, where she had been transferred after having initially been taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport.
Two days earlier police were called to a home in Pontnewydd following concerns over her health.
The trial is being heard at Newport Crown Court.
