AN ENTREPRENEUR from Newport is to create 280 jobs in Cwmbran in a new takeaway ordering service and restaurant booking company.

Shelim Hussain MBE is the founder, chairman and managing director of Euro Foods Group. He is setting up a new business Kukd.com to provide an online service for restaurants and takeaways.

The business based on the EFG Food & Technology Park at Llantarnam Park Way, Cwmbran, already has 3,000 restaurants signed and hopes to have 10,000 establishments on board within one year.

Mr Hussain said: “Kukd will provide a cost effective online service to member restaurants and takeaways and through better use of technology will provide enhanced services to members and provide a better end customer experience.

“We are entering a substantial and rapidly growing market and intend to compete with some of the more established players on price, customer service and breadth of offer - including an array of value-add propositions such as insurance, food supply, cleaning services and consultancy.”

The Welsh Government is supporting the Cwmbran project, with a business finance project to secure the investment for Wales.

Edwina Hart, minister for business, enterprise, science and technology said: “Mr Hussein is a well known and highly successful entrepreneur with a strong track record of establishing thriving businesses and I wish him every success with the launch of kukd.com.

“Welsh Government support for this project has ensured another business founded by Mr Hussein will be headquartered in Wales.

“The new venture will create a significant number and wide range of jobs offering career and employment opportunities for several hundred people,” she added.

The website and online support service comprises a team of 100 employees and the other 180 positions will be filled over the next three years.

Mr Hussain said: “Our business success has been founded in Wales so I am pleased support from the Welsh Government meant we were able to establish this new business here.”
