TORFAEN’s MP, Nick Thomas-Symonds, gave his support to a Blaenavon community event announcing the winner for the town's ‘Best Dressed Teddy’.
The announcement was part of the ‘Teddy Bears’ Picnic’ event at Blaenavon World Heritage Centre on Sunday, August 7, which featured activities for all ages and a disco.
The main event was a prizegiving for the best dressed teddy, presented by Nick Thomas-Symonds and Cllr Alan Jones of Blaenavon ward.
Mr Thomas-Symonds said: "I had a fantastic afternoon at the Teddy Bears’ Picnic at Blaenavon World Heritage Centre.
“There were over 40 entries for the ‘Best Dressed Teddy’ competition and councillor Alan Jones and I were very proud to present the prizes, the effort put in was just incredible.”
The Blaenavon World Heritage Centre provides a world class learning resource to help people to appreciate the "outstanding universal value" of the Blaenavon Landscape World Heritage Site.
It explores the science, technology and engineering behind the story of Blaenavon’s Industrial Landscape, through both formal and informal education.
