A MAN has been arrested following an armed robbery of a general store in Cwmbran.
At around 3.38pm yesterday, a call was made to Gwent Police reporting a robbery at Pontnewydd General Stores on Commercial Street.
A man who had claimed he was in possession of a gun entered the store and demanded money.
No one was harmed during the robbery and the man left with around £80 of cash.
A 23-year-old man from the Cwmbran area has since been arrested on suspicion of armed robbery and is currently in police custody.
