EXPLORE one of Torfaen’s iconic historical sites at night as part of a Hallowe’en-themed event this month.

The ‘Haunted History and Folklore Evening Tour’ will take place at Blaenavon Ironworks museum, inviting guests to bask in myths and ghost stories from the area.

Folklore and ancient legends of Blaenavon / Blaenau Gwent will be explored on the evening, mixing historical fact with the supernatural.

Visitors can expect tales of the Black Mountains, Blaenavon and Clydach to the history of Hallowe’en and ghostly legends from the ironworks.

The Blaenavon Ironworks is a former industrial site and museum in Blaenavon in South Wales and is considered as the best preserved blast furnace complex of its period and type in the world. Visitors can explore the extensive remains of the blast furnaces, the cast houses and the impressively restored Water Balance Tower.

The site is currently managed by the Welsh Government’s Historic Environment Service, CADW and on non-event day, the site offers free admission.
