RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after two young French bulldog puppies were found in a poor state in a cardboard box in Pontypool Park on Saturday, November 12.

The two male pups, which were found with many of their bones visible, were discovered by a member of the public walking his own dogs, who then contacted the RSPCA.

After their rescue, both dogs underwent veterinary treatment, having been found both very underweight and with extensive skin problems. The pair seemed depressed, and exceptionally frightened.

Neither dog was microchipped, and RSPCA Cymru is eager for members of the public to come forward with any information detailing how they may have been dumped in this condition.

Fortunately, the pups have recovered well, and are now safely in a boarding establishment.

RSPCA inspector Simon Evans said: “These poor puppies were absolutely terrified, and it beggars belief that someone would dump them in such a sorry state - treating them like rubbish in a cardboard box.

“We are appealing for information from anyone who may know something about the circumstances in which these helpless pups were abandoned.

“The RSPCA inspectorate information line can be reached on 0300 123 8018. All calls are treated in confidence, and any information could help support our enquiries.”

RSPCA Cymru continues to remind the public that taking on a puppy is a long-term commitment. The charity offers advice to those considering making such an addition to their family.
