AN APPEAL has been launched by a Torfaen film company to help produce a horror thriller.

Earlier this month, Cwmbran-based film company Paintbox Media revealed a GoFundMe page to raise funds for the short film Killer Experiment.

The film follows horror fans who abduct a girl as an experiment to see how long it takes for anyone to notice she is gone.

It ill be directed and produced by Paintbox Media chief executive Sally Martin, who scooped Best Welsh Short at Carmarthen Film Festival in 2012, for her film Girl, Abducted.

She said: “The GoFundMe is primarily to assist with travel, location costs and lunches as cast and crew are giving up their time for free to work on this project.

“We will be filming within the Torfaen area and local support would be gratefully appreciated.”

She added: “Once the film is finished it’s going into festivals and competitions. I really have high hopes for it.”

The aim is to raise £1,000, with a start date for shooting set for May.
