A CAR-LOVING youngster from Torfaen hit the race track with a Canadian kart champion this week, as part of an event raising awareness of autism.
Jack Pittas, of Canal Court, Griffithstown, hit the headlines in 2015 after winning a competition to take part in an eight-day European rally, called Eight Ball - in a Lamborghini.
Since then, his Facebook page ‘Jack the Supercar Kid’ has grown in popularity, with supporters from across the world.
Today, the 10-year-old - who has Aspergers Syndrome - met the face of Canadian charity Racing with Autism, Austin Riley, as part of a visit to Griffithstown Primary School.
The 17-year-old shared his story of overcoming autism to pursue competitive kart racing and spent the afternoon with Jack in visits to Cwmbran’s Newtown Motors and Newport’s Supakart centre.
Jack;s dad, Robert, 45, added: “They clicked straight away and you would have thought that they had known each other for years”.
