Gwent Police have released a statement following the crash.

A spokeswoman said: "At 2.41pm yesterday we received reports of a collision between a red Skoda and a pedestrian in George Street in Pontypool.

"The pedestrian was airlifted to hospital and his condition is described as stable."

A PEDESTRIAN has been taken to hospital following a crash earlier today in Pontypool.

A South Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said that crews attended to the crash.

She said: "We were called to the crash in George Street, Pontypool, at 2.43pm.

"The collision involved one vehicle and one pedestrian, who was taken to hospital."

She said the crews were called to assist the ambulance.
