A CHARITY festival will return to a Pontypool music venue for its third year, with the proceeds raising money for a Torfaen centre for children with disabilities.

Ffli Stock will take place on Friday, April 28; Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30 at the Dragonffli in support of New Inn’s Torfaen Opportunity Group’s (TOGS) disabled children’s centre.

In 2015, the venue raised money for Pontypool teenager Shauna Griffiths and last year, Ffli Stock’s chosen charity was Ieuan the Lion from Newport.

Owner Nick Byrne said: “TOGS does great work in the local community working with disabled and disadvantaged children as well as young adults.

“I like to keep the chosen charities quite local as it is great to see the difference that the money raised can make in the area.”

The festival starts at 6pm on Friday, with earlier times of 4pm and 3pm on the Saturday and Sunday respectively.

“I used to work with a lot of children who were in a similar situation up until 2010, when I lost my job,” added Mr Byrne,

“I know some of kids who go there and one of them comes up here quite regularly as he plays the drums.

“They are struggling themselves so I thought it would be a good cause for this year’s event.”

Entry into the music event costs a suggested donation of £2 per day and for details search ‘The Dragonffli’ on Facebook.
