AN ANTIQUES fair is set to sweep across Pontypool this weekend bringing music, family-friendly activities and cinema to the town.

The event is organised by the Friends of Pontypool Town (FOPT) and follows the group’s first antiques fair in collaboration with Pontypool-based antiques shop Roofrack Ragamuffins last year.

This year, the event will offer more regular antiques stalls and include acoustic music from Tom and Jade West from noon in the town centre.

Family fun and activities for children will be provided on Saturday, April 22, with a popcorn and candy floss machine and giant games including Connect 4, Chess and Snakes and Ladders.

Workshops and advice on ‘upcycling’ furniture will also take place during the day.

On the evening, the event will also host a 'Pontypool Indoor Market Cinema' in Pontypool's Indoor market between 7pm and 9pm.

The film for the evening will be Disney's Moana. Tickets are free and are available at www.ticketsource.co.uk/date/GIKDJG

The FOPT group was started with the mission of “making Pontypool town centre a vibrant, safe and attractive place to live, work and visit” and they meet at Pontypool Tesco’s cafe at 5.20pm on the first Tuesday of every month.

The Antiques Fair event will take place between 11am and 3pm and for more information, search ‘Friends of Pontypool Town’ on Facebook.
