A BANK employee has gone fuzz free for charity.
Daniel Holborn, from Pontypool, had his beard trimmed for charity on Friday, at Santander in Cwmbran ,where he works as a personal banker.
Louis Thomas from The Barber Shop in Abersychan offered his services to remove Mr Holborn’s hefty beard for free, with Mr Holborn’s wife, Katie, and children, 15-year-old Megan, and three-year-old Huey, watching on.
Mr Holborn is currently raising money and awareness for The British Thyroid Foundation, as his wife suffers from two thyroid conditions, including the autoimmune Graves’ disease.
He will also be taking part in the Velothon Wales on July 9 as part of his efforts.
He said yesterday: “I’m feeling the cold and I keep walking past mirrors and thinking, ‘who’s following me?’”
His wife added: “I couldn’t be prouder of Daniel. He has always had a beard, but it has been long for two years. I can’t stop looking at him when he walks into a room. The children are the same.”
